Xeikon has never stopped pioneering world-class digital print solutions. Well over a decade of experience has culminated in an entirely new product line. Building on the solid foundations of our proven DCP technology, our engines have all been re-designed and improved with new features that specifically enhance image quality, increase productivity and reduce maintenance, bringing our entire portfolio up to the same Xeikon standards.

IPEX 1993 marked the formal kick off of digital printing. It was there that Xeikon launched its DCP-1. A 320 mm wide press and the first ever to print double sided in one pass. Commercial shipments went out in 1994 and today, some of these engines are still running, and running well!

These engines have all the trademark features of a true Xeikon press: web fed, they combine unique widths up to 500 mm with virtually unlimited sheet length and handle the widest variety of substrates in the range from 40 to 350 gsm. They all use electro-photographic imaging technology based on LED-array imaging, boasting a 600 dpi resolution with variable dot density. Dry toner based, they are a blessing for the environment as no solvents are used and de-inkability of the printed material is easy. And to leverage the highest quality and productivity levels, they all come with the truly open, scalable and modular digital front-end X-800 that combines extensive pre-press functionality with impressive variable data printing processing capabilities.

A new range calls for new names. We have got rid of the DCP denomination and, starting with the Xeikon 5000, decided to keep it simple. We still make DCP’s but we no longer need to say so. Everyone knows...you run "a Xeikon".
