Xeikon is setting a new standard. As of today it offers a revolutionary solution for heat seal transfer printing that easily outperforms traditional screen printing in quality, speed, flexibility and price. By applying the DST-patented technology we combine the best of both worlds (the benefits of digital printing with the possibilities of screen printing) to deliver you the most perfect solution to print on textile.The combination of DST’s inks and process knowledge with Xeikon’s digital print know-how produces unique, high-resolution textile transfers suitable for both short and long run applications.

How it works

You start by printing a high resolution print of your artwork on the DST liner using the digital Xeikon press. The films needed for making the white and the adhesive screens are produced simultaneously, thus achieving perfect register. During screen production you can continue printing artwork on the Xeikon press, making for huge time gains. Once the screens are produced, you print the DST white onto the digital artwork and heat cure for perfect bonding. Then you print the DST adhesive onto the DST white and heat cure again for perfect bonding. Finally, you heat press the artwork onto the garment you have selected.

Opting for the Xeikon/DST heat seal transfer printing redefines most standards you might have got used to in traditional screen printing over the years. Combining the intrinsic advantages of digital printing with a minimised, top-quality screen-printing cycle, yields nothing but benefits.

Great economy

The Xeikon/DST solution makes for light work as it is less labour intensive:you enjoy a quick and easy set-up without the need for colour separation.This means you can also reduce the amount of inks in stock. Add high-speed printing of your images and screen films, and merely two screen passes and you are cutting more corners! Finally, proofing is not needed as your test print is the actual product. In short, Xeikon and DST bring you great economy and the short-run capacity you need to be able to offer textile print-on-demand.

Increased flexibility

Because of the architecture of the Xeikon press, transfers can be produced in either roll-to-roll or roll-to-sheet form, and the digital technology offered by the print system means that variable data can be incorporated into the transfer design. As such every transfer produced can include unique content, whether that is simply an individual name or - more complex - a varying picture element. The solution allows you to print on a wide variety of textile substrates (spandex, neoprene, polyester, cotton, polyurethane, PVC fabrics, as well as knit and woven materials) to create heat seal neck labels, t-shirts, team apparel, work wear and bathing suits that stand out through their incomparable quality and low cost.

Matchless quality

The Xeikon/DST solution offers vastly improved quality. It allows you to digitally print your artwork in 4 colour process printing at “beyond offset” quality with an incomparably better resolution than screen printing can ever achieve. Moreover, it offers you the possibility of using special colours or even security toners in the 5th printing station, presenting you with even more possibilities.

By simultaneously creating the job and the screen films in a single go, you can rely on perfect register time and time again.And since the architecture of the Xeikon press is based on full rotary printing you will also achieve perfect image position and register, while an integrated sheet cut keeps all your options open. Quality-wise the end result is second to none: it meets all industry standards for durability, high-temperature washing and drycleaning, and since it is a water-based system that uses no PVC, phthalates or APEO, the complete process is environmentally friendly as well.
